Helen Hatch has a distinguished career as an architect specializing in the design of hotels, resorts, convention centers and conference centers. She has been responsible for the design of over 20 hotels and convention facilities including renovations, adaptive reuses and new construction. She is considered the ambassador of TVS's civic responsibility in designing spaces into better places, particularly in urban contexts.

Hatch is a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and is the immediate past chair of the ULI Atlanta District Council. She is currently Chair of the ULI Global Exchange Council and a member of the national ULI Program Committee. Helen's special interest in Smart Growth initiatives has resulted in her being appointed to the Advisory Group for ULI in the Community, a group charged with influencing state and local policy and practice to be consistent with smart growth principles.

Mayor Shirley Franklin appointed Helen Hatch to chair the Mayor's Walkable Atlanta Task Force which recently completed a comprehensive set of policy recommendations and strategies to make Atlanta a more walkable city.

Hatch is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, serving on the Diversity Committee of AIA, the Alumni Council for the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the Advisory Council for the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is on the Steering Committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and serves on their Environmental Committee.
