Affordable Workforce Housing

Affordable workforce housing is designed to make living in the city accessible. Affordable workforce housing means rental housing and homeownership opportunities that are affordable to residents whose income is no greater than a certain percentage of the Atlanta area median income.

As part of a broader citywide effort, approximately $240 million of TAD funds will be set aside into an affordable housing trust fund for the purpose of building workforce housing units. This commitment is estimated to create as many as 5,600 new workforce housing units inside the BeltLine area, the most significant investment in affordable workforce housing in Atlanta's history.

The BeltLine Affordable Housing Advisory Board (BAHAB), which consists of local affordable housing experts, was created by City Council to work with Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. to make recommendations of policies and goals for the affordable housing trust fund which will best to leverage the fund and ensure the creation of accessible and high quality affordable housing units.
