EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT
The Atlanta BeltLine has the potential to not only achieve physical connectivity among Atlanta’s neighborhoods, which is a significant accomplishment in itself, but to also break down economic and cultural barriers.
Addressing these aspirations, the Tax Allocation District Advisory Committee and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. created an Equitable Development Plan. By establishing an Equitable Development Plan, the commitment to healthy growth is clear and the plan for achieving this is clearly defined. The plan was approved by the Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. board in 2009, and details regarding evaluation and monitoring are being developed.

Community Benefits
A major component of the Equitable Development Plan is Community Benefits. A Community Benefits Jobs Policy, which links together TAD funded construction jobs with residents who need jobs in BeltLine neighborhoods, was approved by the ABI board in the summer of 2009. A FAQ for contractors and detailed contractor requirements can also be found below.
In the fall of 2009 and early 2010, Atlanta BeltLine Study Groups will develop community benefits principles and policies, which will inform how TAD funded projects – especially those funded with economic development incentives - are developed. We welcome your participation. Please check the master calendar on the home page for opportunities to get involved.
